Abstract

The picture is taken in Aranzadi, in Northern Pamplona, in Navarra, Spain. Pamplona’s climate makes this area usually rather dry, and it only carries water in the case of floods. Aranzadi is part of Arga’s river basin (Ebro’s tributary). It is located next to it, being considered a meander or an abandoned course. In this area, we can find aquatic plants in the river, and we find poplars and willows around the riverbank. The existing fauna includes bats, sparrows, lizards and different species of fish. Although Aranzadi is part of the municipality of Pamplona, there are no residential buildings in the area, only some municipal services. Because Aranzadi is placed in between two neighbourhoods, many people come to walk to the area.
